There is very little information about BG Windus either in art literature, or the local history resources in Tottenham
We would like to thank:

Dr Selby Whittingham – Turner expert, BG Windus researcher and Secretary of the
Independent Turner Society

The principal sources of information are two articles by Dr Selby Whittingham:

Whittingham The Turner collector: Benjamin Godfrey Windus 1790-1867,
Turner  Studies, vol. 7 no. 2, 1988, pp. 29-35

no. 2, December 1993, pp. 69-116

Ray Swain and Alan Swain – Local History enthusiasts

Val Crosby, Deborah Hedgecock and Clare Stephens at Bruce Castle Museum
Remembering Ray Swain, who died in September 2018, and who was hopeful of discovering that Turner, Constable and Luke Howard had met on Tottenham Green and discussed the painting of clouds.
